This kit includes the upper and lower airbox hoses, both of which provide improved pressure and heat tolerance compared to the factory rubber counterparts. This portion of the intake is subjected to oil particles from the PCV system; these particles slowly degrade the rubber in the stock hoses. Mishimoto silicone hoses are more resilient to this exposure and will outlast the factory components substantially. To promote improved airflow, these hoses have been designed with a smooth internal surface, unlike the accordion-style bends in stock hoses.
